Day #2 of recovering from my latest meeting with the pavement.
Things are actually getting better a lot faster. Maybe all of my experience with falling off the MTB means that my body’s always primed and ready to fix something. Then again, my elbow still hurts to lean on and my hip still hurts when I walk.
It’s funny how you take little things like your elbow for granted – simple things like leaning on the table suddenly become an excruciatingly painful exercise. Then again, this experience might teach me to keep my elbows off the table at dinner time.
That said, I did hop on a bike this morning and to my surprise, it didn’t hurt (much). It may have just been a Melbourne Bike Share bike, but with my dud hip, it’s actually quite hard to get on to one of my traditionally shaped bikes, so the step through was a real blessing. Sure dropping curbs and riding cobbles sent a spike of pain up my arm from my elbow, but it was definitely easier to ride to the office this morning than to walk.
Ah the simple pleasures of an early morning spin.
