w00t!
Back on the bike after one and a half weeks off.
Still a bit tentative on the right hand, but I managed.
In the blurry eyed darkness of the morning, I put my knicks on backwards and didn’t realise until I was down the driveway.
Aside from that, it felt AWESOME to be back on the road.
Photos from the ball can be found in the gallery. Took almost 200 photos on the night, but only ~100 of them were any good.
Anyway, was good fun. The night seemed to fly by. I also picked up the “Food Lovers Award” for “the person who always knows somewhere good to eat”. Hah! It seems my Claypots pimping is having its effect.
Too lazy to write any more right now…
Geesh it’s late.
I’m knackered.
Took a lot of photos.
Will sort them out later.
Here’s one to start with…

Still somewhat angry at myself for my little accident.
Also have a fair bit of stored up energy that’s not being expended on the bike (the stitches make it rather uncomfortable to hold a handlebar).
The indoor trainer is alright, but it’s just not the same watching the bay slip by for a couple of hours. One thing it is good for is blasting away for short periods. I suppose it’s better to expend this stored up anger and energy on the pedals. In times like this, there’s something refreshing about pounding away on the pedals and feeling your quads burning. Even the stinging of sweat dripping down the cut in my upper lip somehow feels “good”.
*sigh*
Can’t wait to get back on the bike properly.
Welp, another trip to the dentist, another three injections. Bah.
Presenting… my temporary smile.

This will hold me until next month, when I’ll be back in the chair to get the proper crown done. Everything needs to heal up a bit before getting the crown done, especially the central incisor, which is still a bit tender and loose.
Bah.
Another trip to the dentist.
Due to the grazing on my chin and upper lip, I haven’t been able to shave properly. Good thing it’s movember and I can get away with it.
I took some a couple of photos of the stitches in my hand today. I’ll admit that being the wuss that I am, I had a really hard time looking at the wound. The whole pulling feeling of the stitches is still taking some getting used to, but I seem to be getting a fair bit of my movement back. The worst part of the whole experience was getting the dressing off the wound. This was the first time that I’d removed it and it was good and stuck. It took a fair bit of soaking and a whole lot of wincing to get the dressing off. I hope I don’t have to repeat that experience too many times.

This was my last weekend with HPG’s Kona Kula so I made it a point to get out to Lysterfield one more time. I don’t seem to be having much luck on the bike lately because today didn’t quite turn out as I planned either. Very much so. Excuse me if I’m a bit incoherent here, the drugs might still be doing funny things to me.

Had my first crack at the Alpine Tour de Suburbs today, which unfortunately didn’t quite turn out like I planned.
