Nice to know that it’s working…

Had a convo at the Spring and Collins Street lights today. There I was, waiting at a red light with hints of grey starting to show across the sky. This is normally a dangerous time for cyclists, with sunglare blinding drivers and the reddish, orange ambient light negating the effect if your blinkies and fluoro clothing.

Off in la-la land, I didn’t notice that the woman beside me in a blue merc had wound a window down…

Merc-lady> Hi?
HG> *watches lights*
ML> Hey… you there…
HG> Huh? *rolls forward to window*
ML> Just wanted to congratulate you. Your lights are great…
HG> huh?
ML> You see some cyclists these days, can hardly see them. Your lights are amazing…
HG> Well yeah… thanks :)
*lights change*

For the record, my lights are
- Ay Up Cree with a medium beam on the handlebars
- 2x Planet Bike Super Flash (one on the bike, one on the backpack)

So I’m glad that the money I’ve spent on my lights is working.
