I’m not a father, but…
This is awesome!
One little toy that I’ve been playing with of late is my Dell Mini Inspiron. After a week of use, I haven’t had major neck or eye strain and I’ve managed to get used to the tiny keyboard.
In setting up this computer, I’m reminded of the question “Why does anyone actually pay for software these days?” Between Firefox, Open Office, FileZilla, GIMP and a few other handy apps, I’m pretty much covered for everything that I need from this computer for a grand total of $0.
And gone are the days of buggy freeware, or crippled shareware. This is all good stuff.
Why does the average home user pay for anything these days?
Another day, another vendor open day.
One reason for the average, non-decision making nobody like me to attend these things is to pick up freebies. I’ve managed to snare some very decent stuff at these things before. Last year I picked up a battery powered radio, which has served very faithfully as my garage radio.
This year, I managed to pick up a diary and a handy water flask.
I also picked up this not-very-useful doodad, shown next to it is my faithful Silva hiking compass.
