Sad news!
The folks running my local post office are moving on!
With the amount of online shopping that I do, my PO has probably become my most second most frequented shop, behind my supermarket. I reckon I’m there at least once a fortnight, picking up yet another bulky item that’s been too big to fit inside my letterbox. I’m pretty sure that the staff actually recognise me now.
Hopefully the people who are taking over will be just as good.
So I stopped by one of the many bike shops that I pass on my commute tonight. They were having a 20% off everything stocktake sale, so it was a good opportunity to stock up on a few small odds and ends. So I picked up a few odds and ends, some of which had a bigger discount, while others had the 20% discount. I paid and as I was walking out, I had a look at the receipt and noticed that the discount wasn’t applied on the $30 of odd items I’d purchased. So I went back and queried it. The guy who was serving me said “Oh”, then fiddled with the computer for a good minute or so without saying anything else. Then he handed me $3. I stood there for a moment and looked at it and asked him again “Isn’t it a 20% discount?”. His response was “Umm… yes” and nothing else. Then fiddled with his computer again and gave me another $3.
No apology.
No nothing.
Sheesh.
